Celebrate Las Vegas Restaurant Week, a celebration of dining out for a cause, from June 17- June 28. This is the right time to eat out since a portion of proceeds can help Three Square in its fight to end hunger in Southern Nevada. Did you hear? Pay for Parking Tickets with High School Supplies: On July 18, 2016, the City Council adopted Bill No. 2016-34, authorizing the establishment and operation of an occasional program by which fines for qualifying parking infractions may be paid by means of the donation of food items, children’s toys or school supplies. City Council will vote on a temporary program allowing a recipient of a qualifying parking infraction issued between June 19 and July 19 to donate a new, unwrapped school supplies of equal or greater value than the ticket fine. The recipient of the donations will be The Teachers Exchange, a local 501(c)3 organization which provides resources to Southern Nevada public school teachers. Bring your donations to Parking Services, 500 S. Main St. The supplies must be donated within 30 days of the citation date, and a purchase receipt must be included. School supplies being accepted include pencils, pens, erasers, and pencil sharpeners; dry-erase markers; index cards; paper towels or disinfecting wipes; card stock; copy paper; storage bins; rulers; scissors; and Post-it notes.

Have you read the post on the closure of the portion of the Las Vegas Strip for a pedestrian bridge work? Work on a new pedestrian bridge will close parts of the Strip next week from Monday night, June 24th at 11 pm to 10 am the following day, on Tuesday. The close will re-occur every night thereafter until Thursday night with re-opening on Friday morning. Hopefully, the work can be done as scheduled so not to congest traffic on the first week of summer.
