Note from Your Publisher: Coronavirus Dominated My Life

We survived a year of the pandemic. We did not come this far to only come this far

By Donnah O, Editor and Publisher February 28, 2021

When CDC released a health advisory on the Outbreak of Pneumonia of Unknown Etiology (PUE) in Wuhan, China on Jan. 8, 2020, no one knew that it will affect the world drastically. As the etiology is unknown, so does the prevention and treatment. But the health sector was vigilant. The health advisory was forwarded to my work e-mail less than an hour after the CDC advisory was released.

Little by little, scientists and researchers learned more on the illness. Until they named it the "coronavirus." It is a race of time to provide treatment and prevent further infection. Some people has no symptoms, others have mild while we've seen those with severe symptoms. But others are unlucky not to survive. And other survivors will have life-long complications from the illness. The virus has affected each and everyone of us, one way or another.

We're all in this together. The coronavirus from Wuhan crippled the world. But not the people of the world. Everyone has a role to play as we work together to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Read my story on how the situation affected my business and my profession.

Thank you for staying at home when you were asked to stay at home. You stayed home for me who can't stay home. The pandemic caught everyone by surprise. No one was prepared for the lockdown. But the world came together at a social distance to heal the world.

Thank you for your perseverance. We did not come this far to only come this far. We are all working together.
