Las Vegas Playgrounds Reopening

With COVID-19, please follow directives to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for all

By Donnah Opelac October 17, 2020

Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 in our communities, visitors are asked to follow these simple steps to help keep our outdoor playgrounds safe, open, and fun:

Wear a mask

Everyone 2 to 9 years of age is encouraged to wear a face covering. Those more than 10 years of age must wear a face covering. The face-covering must cover the nose and mouth.

Maintain Distance

Maintain a physical distance of 6 feet between individuals from different households and prevent crowding of children.

 No Food or Drink

Do not eat or drink in the playground area to ensure face masks are always worn.

 Know When to Stay Home

Elderly individuals or people with underlying medical conditions should avoid playgrounds when others are present.

Plan Ahead

Visit the park at different times or days to avoid crowds and waits.

Wash Hands

Wash or sanitize your hands before and after your visit to the playground.

Share Our Space

To avoid crowding and allow everyone to use this space, please limit your visit to 30 minutes when others are waiting.

Please observe the signs at all city parks indicating the maximum occupancy for each playground and safety rules. The National Recreation and Park Association continues to encourage the safe use of parks and open spaces during the coronavirus pandemic, calling parks essential resources for health and wellness. Parks, trails, and open spaces can provide opportunities for physical activity while also providing opportunities for a break, health, and wellness. People are encouraged to use parks, trails, and open spaces safely while following current guidance.

Reserve A Picnic Shelter

Picnic pavilions at city parts not listed above are on a first-come, first-served basis. Social distancing and other safety guidelines outlined by the state must be followed.

To reserve a picnic area, visit https://registration.lasvegasnevada.gov/ and click “Picnic Shelters.” Once on that page, you can select a listed park to view photos and videos of the park as well as make a reservation.

Picnic shelter rentals vary in price and time allotment. The shelter needs to be reserved for the full duration a guest plans to use it; there is a two hour minimum per reservation.
