Las Vegas is known as the entertainment capital of the world. But with more families with younger children coming to Vegas, it is now the family entertainment capital of the world. This Halloween weekend, locals and tourists will not be disappointed with events happening all over the Strip and Downtown Las Vegas, with costume contests, parades, and family-friendly trick-or-treat events. Nevada Day Events

Hallow Reef Community Day 2019 
Shark Reef Aquarium
Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino

In honor of Community Day, the American Red Cross will be on-site for visitors interested in donating blood. Guests 17 years and older (or 16 years old with parental consent) who come out to give blood will receive complimentary admission to Hallow-Reef and parking on the day of donation. To make an appointment, guests can visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: Shark Reef Mandalay Bay.  Also on October 25, children 12 and under who visit Shark Reef in Halloween costumes will receive complimentary aquarium admission and sweet treats. The fun continues on October 26 and 27 with a discounted Shark Reef admission of $7 for children 12 and under in costume.

In celebration of Nevada Day, veteran historian and native Las Vegan Stan Paher will give a presentation in Las Vegas. Paher, author of Las Vegas: As It Began, As It Grew, will present images depicting the Las Vegas Valley from its Mormon beginnings in the mid-1850s through a period of ranching headed by O.D. Gass and Helen Stewart to the eras of railroad building,  Hoover Dam construction, and atomic testing. There will be two sessions on Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

On Oct 25th, learn more about the Silver State through various arts and crafts, storytelling, and visual demonstrations with the help of special guests from the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas!

Monster Mini Golf 
On Oct. 25th, 4-pack of golf special for $18.64 (Nevada was founded in 1864) at the Kiss themed mini-golf located at the Rio Hotel and the Twilight Zone by Monster Mini Golf at Bally’s Las Vegas.

Vegas Golden Knights 
On Oct. 25, the Golden Knights will celebrate Nevada Day with a matinee game against the Colorado Avalanche at 3 p.m. PT. Guests will receive the City of Las Vegas and City of Henderson patches upon entry. The squad will debut a new look, and you’ll have a chance to snag one of these specialty jerseys during an in-game raffle.

Join Ward 4 Councilman Stavros Anthony and kick off your Halloween season at this annual family-friendly trunk-or-treat event. Bring the family in costume to enjoy free candy, mad science haunted house, bounce house, cakewalk, and games, while supplies last. Candy giveaways at each “trunk” for those dressed in costume. Raffle tickets will be for sale.

Back by popular demand, StorySLAM is a celebration of words and experiences that shape and define who we are. Las Vegas storytellers will share their own personal and genuine stories with the audience, connected to the theme for this presentation – “The Dark Side.” Sometimes we need to expose ourselves to the darkness to appreciate the light.
