Map of Public Pools and Splash Pads to Cool Off in Las Vegas

Need to cool off on a hot day in Las Vegas? We have Water Fun at the Dessert

By Donna Opelac, editor & publisher June 28, 2023

We advise always checking with the venue before heading out as hours and availability can change due to many factors, ranging from weather to staffing issues.

Tip: Enlarge the map by clicking on the top right and click on the purple icon for the address of the pool and splash pad. If you don't see a splash pad or a pool listed, it is most likely managed by another local government agency or HOA. You can check with them directly for hours and locations.

The summer season of the entertainment capital of the world has been known as "the hottest summer season." Not just of the world-renowned shows and entertainment but also of the scourging heat of the sun. But not a reason not to have family fun under the sun.

Don't forget the essentials:

• sunscreen
• sunhats
• water - splash pad water is recycled water and not safe for drinking
• snacks/food
• towels
• change of clothes
• water shoes
• waterproof camera (unless you are willing to risk your water-proof cell phone)
• water-safe toys

 Splash Pads in Las Vegas

The Las Vegas valley has several splash pads to keep the kids and adults cool off the summer heat where kids (and adults) can play – and most splash pads are free!

Splash pads are open May 1 through Sept. 30 daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The water that is used is clean, just like tap water at home. The water used in these areas is recycled the same way as water from our homes; it goes down the drain, to the treatment plant, winds up in Lake Mead and then comes back through the pipes.

Pools in Las Vegas

Everyone is invited to enjoy swim lessons, competitive aquatics teams for youth, dive-in movies, fitness events and themed pool parties at selected pools. But pools may occasionally close for private special events, training, or facility maintenance/repair, so always check before going.

One-month and three-month pool passes are on sale now for lap and open swim periods. Passes are valid at all six city of Las Vegas pools. Pool passes are currently for sale at Municipal Pool, Pavilion Center Pool, and all city recreation centers, and will be sold at seasonal pools when they are open.

Daily pool fees for individuals at city pools are:

  • Ages 3 and younger – free
  • Ages 4-17 - $2
  • Adults ages 18-49 - $3
  • Seniors ages 50+ - $2

Three-month passes are priced nelow:

  • $35 for a child ages 4-17 or seniors ages 50+
  • $70 for adults ages 18-49

Those who enter the pool are required to wear proper swim attire (no shorts, cut-offs, etc.) per the Health District code. All children under 48 inches tall must be accompanied by an adult in the water, one adult per child. Coast Guard approved life jackets in infant and adult sizes are available for day use at all city pools. Please note hours of open swim are subject to change.

“Learn to Swim” lessons are offered at most pools; discounted $5 group session swim lessons are offered at Baker, Doolittle, Municipal and Carlos L. Martinez & Darrio J. Hall Family Pool at Gary Reese Freedom Park. Registration for free group swim classes for preschool children is available at selected pools; registration for free classes is required in person at the pool, as the scholarship cannot be applied online. Registration for swim lessons for all ages is available here. Splash aquatics teams for ages 7-17 will be offered for nine weeks beginning June 5 at all city pools, including water polo, synchronized swimming, springboard diving and competitive swimming for $40 each.
